Gary
Greenberg was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He attended
Penn State University where he concentrated his studies on rugby, beer
and girls and miraculously graduated with a B.A. degree in journalism
in 1976. He has been writing professionally for more than 40 years,
mostly as a newspaper reporter/editor and freelancer.
A world traveler and adventurer, Gary has a vast reservoir of mostly
useless information which he draws upon to write a myriad of things
including essays, tales
of
travel, newspaper and magazine articles, short and long fiction, children’s
stories and
verse, and the Cosmic
Chronicle (the world's ony
sci-fi political satire ezine).
He's also authored three books: the New Age, sci-fi, gothic romance,
crime thriller Dead Man's Tale,
the transformative health guide The
Beer Diet: How to Drink Beer and NOT Gain Weight, and The
Chelation Revolution, which is about the controversial heavy
metal detox.
As a writer, Gary has found it necessary to occasionally find alternate
employment including jobs as a
deli counterman, thoroughbred horse groom, apartment house manager,
weight training instructor, house painter, freshman composition
instructor, drawbridge operator and import/export business manager.
He spent 13 years as a staff writer/editor for American Media,
Inc., publishers of the supermarket tabloids National Enquirer, Globe
and National Examiner. Since 1999, he has also owned and
operated the freelance writing service SuperWriter, Inc.
He
also stars on The
Beer Diet Guy YouTube Channel, where he muses about beer,
health and life in general in a series of quirky videos.
Gary lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with his eternally beautiful (and
funny) wife, Nora. They have a grown son, Glen, as well as
rescue dog Roxanne, sun conure with an attitude Baba, parakeet Olaf,
and two turtles, Stella and Dottie.
